08th April 2026
UK news commentator, Jason Tanner , says: "Without any doubt, Donald Trump's legacy will be his threat that a whole civilization will die as part of the U.S Iran war started by Trump's administration.
"The USA and the rest of the world must never forget the 168 children killed at the start of the U.S Iran War, representing one of the worst civilian casualty incidents for the U.S. military in recent decades.
"Nor should we forget the 250 people estimated to have died today in Lebanon as Trump's strategic ally, Israel's Netanyahu, continues bloodshed in Lebanon. But why?"

Notes for Editors
With his career launching as a Broadcast Journalist, Jason Tanner developed expertise in wide ranging disciplines such as politics, democracy, free speech and monarchy, cancer research, heritage, tourism, entertainment and volunteering. He progressed to a senior level in both media and public relations. This followed five years as a broadcast journalist for BBC and Independent Local Radio including Radio Mercury FM & BBC Surrey / Southern Counties. He has led talented and successful teams for major NGOs including the National Trust and the national volunteering & training charity CSV, (now Volunteering Matters). He is the founding Director of the Defend Campaign for free speech and democracy. He is currently active in the London tourism industry including tour guiding visitors, having welcomed 10,000 to date, mostly from the USA ,allowing exchanges of ideas about modern democracy and free speech. When there's time, he still uses his journalism training to write and research comment pieces, articles, presentations and training courses.
Stance: Jason Tanner has no fixed alliance to any political party and as an independent freelance journalist, is able to work for different broadcasters and publishers. Jason firmly believes that legacy and social media need coexistence if the privilege of free speech is to be enriched by wide ranging sources and opinions. He's a passionate supporter of trained and untrained citizen journalism but follows the UK broadcast principles he learnt of ensuring the opposite view point can speak also.
Additional:
Jason Tanner is the founder of the defend uk campaign for fairer free speech. He was the last Chief Press Officer for the National Trust before a major reorganisation saw it move its London HQ to Swindon . Amongst many projects, Jason revealed to the world's media the Trust's acquisition of a rare survival of 'slum housing' in Birmingham and was part of the team that worked with Sir Anthony Hopkins in a race to save Snowdon for the nation some 20 plus years ago. When the Trust relocated, Jason headed up media relations for Dame Elisabeth Hoodless at CSV (now Volunteering Matters) and worked closely with key national journalists on a project that placed pioneering volunteers within the families of children at risk. He also headed a talented team that put volunteers squarely on the map as CSV took the lead on the Year of the Volunteer, 2005 leading to the climactic efforts of the Olympic Volunteers of 2012. He also dealt with the enormous international media attention generated when the government of the time launched its ill-fated Big Society. He started the first 5 years of his career working as a radio journalist for both BBC Southern Counties and as the Senior Broadcast Journalist at Mercury FM & Mercury Extra.
